Hi There! I’m Jenna, He’s Guillaume. Thanks for visiting our site. We quit our jobs, built a mobile tiny house, and we are now traveling around North America to pursue our dream careers in travel journalism. That’s the plan, at least. How can you possibly read a blog introduction such as that and not feel an overwhelming desire to wrap your arms around such a couple and such a dynamic story? Exactly. You can’t. But you’ll be able to at this year’s Tiny House Conference being held in Portland, OR on April 18 and April 19. Along with several other tiny houses and unconventional homes you’ll bear witness to the Tiny House Giant Journey house-on-wheels that has taken the nation (and Canada!) by storm in the last several months.
At 125 sq.ft. (plus a 60 sq.ft. loft) the THOW of Jenna and Guillaume is 20′ long, 13’5″ high, 8’6″ wide at the wheels, 7’4″ wide at the walls, 6’8″ wide and 10’6″ high inside and weighs 10,100 pounds. It is built on a 20′ long trailer from Tumbleweed Tiny Homes and is based on the Cypress-20 Overlook building plan.
The couples build began mid-July in 2013 and was positioned for building somewhere in LA where Guillaume and Jenna lived at the time.
After just under a year of building (including some epic B.B.BBQ work parties…..) the couple took their maiden voyage down the Pacific Coast Highway. It was an incredible story of immediate crisis (ultimately diverted), incredible views, and success for a couple looking to break free and reconnect with the freedom we all have in this world. The interior still had some to go before the duo was ready to take to the road but the Tiny House Giant Journey was already becoming a legend.
All in all the home features some incredible and thoughtful design elements, a beautiful and cozy interior, ground-breaking materials, and unconventional textures and finishes. The rundown looks something like this:
