So our conference attendees wanted a way to connect with others to carpool, offer rooms, split things etc. Here is your chance. We used to have a discussion forum, but it was overrun with spam, so I think the best thing to do here is use the comments of this post for the 2015 Tiny House Conference.

My husband is looking to come to the conference and it would be great to stay somewhere less expensive since he’d be flying in from Virginia. Anyone have a couch for him to crash on?
-
Hi, Suzanne:
Will your husband be interested in splitting a room at the Holiday Inn where the conference is (free shuttle to & from the airport)? Like Jennifer McKissic (who is looking for female roommates) below, the hotel is $99/night, 2 double beds, so cost then would be ~$50.00 per night for each of us. Please let me know.
Thanks ~ Chris-
Rates appear higher now (April 6ish)…I sent this note to Ryan….To Ryan:.,
I recall seeing a note from you that conferees might have conference rates at the Holiday Inn (HI). I checked via internet at HI and find the best rates are about $139 for singles; maybe the local 14% added to that?
Many hotels within 2-3 miles offer rates from as little as $49 (plus the 14%) to $95. It is competitive so there is a lot of availability. If HI can offer about $95 for a single I’ll book, otherwise I will stay elsewhere.
Can you advise me and ‘them’ at HI.

Hey Rob,
I responded to your email, but figure I’d also respond here so others know too. Since we are so close and the hotel is almost booked the hotel is no longer giving the discounted rate. Cheaper options are listed on the tinyhouseconference.com website under the event info tab Just a heads up the hotel is about to sell out.

I live in Utah and am wanting to attend the conference. Is there anyone else from Utah going who would like to share a ride/costs/a place to stay? Or anyone who is already in Portland and willing to let me stay with them for a few days? Thanks!
-
Kate, I have a room at the Holiday Inn and am looking for roommates. It is $99/night, 2 double beds, so can hold 4 women willing to share double beds. Cost then would be ~$25.00 per night for each of us.
You can see my post from today, March 22nd.
Let me know if you are interested.

Anyone interested in splitting a room at the Holiday Inn? Either you already have a room, or looking to split a new room. I am looking for both.

Hey Chris,
I’m looking to split a non-smoking room. Still looking for a roommate? Let me know.

I have a room at the Holiday Inn where the conference is being held. I’m looking for 1 to 3 women wanting to share a room for Friday night and/or Saturday night. There are two double beds in the room.
-
Jennifer,
I will be flying in from Albuquerque, NM on Friday and am really interested in sharing a room . I’m perfectly fine with sharing a bed, if that is the option. Are you still looking for roomies?-
Yes. I am still interested. Sorry about the delay in responding!
Do you still need a room?
I’m getting in late Friday and leaving Monday.
Jennifer-
Jennifer,
I would love to share a room! I arrive at 10 am on Friday and leave 6 pm on Sunday, so it would just be for Friday and Saturday nights. Hope that is ok. I plan to spend Friday downtown, as I have never been to Portland. If the hotel will let me check in, I will, but if not I can entertain myself until you arrive.
My cell is 9707993689. Maybe we can chat in the coming days?
Thanks so much for putting this offer out there!-
Tracy,
That’s great! I’ll give you a call Tuesday and we can work out the details.

I am looking for both a roommate and carpool buddy. This will make or break my coming/registering. I would be leaving the Seattle area Friday evening and would like to share gas expenses (we can take my car, but prefer yours as my hubby and kids hope ours can stay here) and share a hotel room. Expenses shared evenly; female only or man and wife. Text Alissa (four-two-five)786-7384

Hi,
I might help with getting you to conference and return. I just registered (Monday morning) and have made no other plan. I’ll be driving round trip from north of Seattle, likely mid-day pass through Seattle going south. E-mail rgcope at gmail dot com.

As a recent registrant, senior citizen, from San Juan Island, WA, planning on building (without wheels) a tiny home, of perhaps 500 sqf, I will be interested in like-minded attendees’ ideas. With this posting also would explore possibilities for shared rooming. Contact at rgcope at gmail dot com.

Rob,
You need to call the hotel direct and ask for the front desk. Don’t let them transfer you to reservations, you will wind up at the 800 reservations desk again. My rate at the hotel is $99.

I’ve booked a suite with 2 queen beds @ the HJ about 1 mile south of the conference from Fri 17th-Mon 20th. It’s would be about ~$35-$40 USD/person/night.
Free airport shuttle.
E-mail me if you’re keen. [email protected]

While they are out of the Tiny House Conference block of rates, a very nice reservation person was still able to ‘force’ the conference room rate through comments, making it 95.00 + 14% lodging tax.

Hello,
I am staying at the McMenamins Edgefield and noticed they still have room in the men’s hostel room for $30 a night with use of the amazing salt water pool, ohhh, ahhhh….
